BENGALURU: The city police have clamped prohibitory order under section 144 of CrPC in view of the state legislature session being held from Friday. the ban orders will be in force till March 31 and the session is expected to be held till then, except on public holidays.
In an official communique, city police commissioner MN Reddi said that the ban orders will be in force around 2 km radius of the Vidhana Soudha, where the session is being held.
"This is in view of disruption that may be caused by protests and other disturbances by some groups in the area. There will be ban on people demonstrating with weapons and groups that are trying to indulge in unlawful activities during the season the session being held," the order said.
The ban order will be in force as there are several public offices in the vicinity and any type of groups demonstrating in the area is expected to create disturbance for the peaceful conduct of the session, the order further said.
